We have a 3 day cruise booked on the Wish for March 14-17. We have booked the Disney shuttle for our stay afterwards at Pop Century. Will the cruise line move our luggage straight to the bus or do we need to get our luggage ourselves?

    Ahoy there, Jan!

It’s great to see you aboard planDisney again.  I’m especially interested in your question that combines a few of my favorite Disney vacation experiences: sailing on the high seas aboard the Disney Cruise Line and through the air on the Skyliner from Disney’s Pop Century Resort.

My family and I returned from a Disney cruise out of Port Canaveral a few weeks ago and enjoyed a brief visit to the Walt Disney World Resort after our cruise. Cute character-themed luggage tags were delivered to each stateroom to attach to any pieces of luggage that we did not want to carry off the ship on debarkation day. We placed tagged luggage outside our stateroom doors by 10 PM the night before debarkation. Our stateroom host collected the luggage in preparation for delivery to the terminal.

On our cruise, passengers who booked Disney transportation to a participating Disney Resort hotel were instructed to collect their luggage from the section of the cruise terminal marked with the character matching our luggage tags before proceeding through US Customs. After passing through Customs with our luggage, we were to take it to the designated ground transportation pickup area for Disney hotel Guests where luggage would be loaded onto the same bus that carried us to the Walt Disney World Resort. Porters were standing by in the cruise terminal to offer assistance to any Guests who needed help moving luggage to the ground transportation services.

Tony’s Tip: In case any policy or procedure should change, I recommend regularly tuning into channel 1, “Onboard Information,” on your stateroom television for the latest news and information. This is especially helpful the day before debarkation. Your ship’s Cruise Director will share all of the essential details to make for smooth sailing during your cruise and through the debarkation experience.

I hope you enjoy your time on the Disney Wish, Jan. You’ll have the opportunity to dine at one of my favorite Disney Cruise Line Rotational Dining restaurants: Arendelle: A Frozen Dining Adventure. Please give Queen Anna and Kristoff my congratulations!

    Have a magical cruise, Jan!
