Are there day camps for kids at the DVC properties? We’re headed to Saratoga Sprongs in July and wondering if the kids (8/5) have any activities they can do besides parks.

Hey there, Paul! Welcome to planDisney! I'm so glad that you've stopped by with such a great vacation planning question. I love chatting about Disney activities with my pals, pal!

In less than a month, you'll be arriving at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, ready to begin your magical family adventure at The Most Magical Place on Earth! How exciting! No matter how many times I stay at Saratoga Springs Resort, I am always awestruck by how gorgeous the grounds and newly renovated rooms are and how peaceful the Resort is. With its seemingly endless list of awesome recreation offerings and Resort activities and location within walking distance to Disney Springs, it really is the perfect, peaceful home away from home right in the middle of the magic. You can have a magical and memorable vacation without ever even leaving the Resort, so, let's chat about the ways you and your family can maximize the magic!

While there are currently no day camps or activity centers at the Resort where you can drop your kiddos off, there are SO many oh-so-fun Resort activities for you and your children to enjoy when you need a break from the theme parks. I suggest starting your quest for family fun at the Community Hall. It is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., and here, you will find complimentary sports equipment rentals, board games, video games, movies, foosball, art and crafts, and more! While the activities can change every month, when I was there in January, they also offered arts and crafts, such as Mickey tie-dye, ceramic mug painting, picture frame painting and more for a small fee. They also offered an Animators Class one day a week, as well as a super fun 50th Anniversary Resort scavenger hunt with a prize at the end!

Right next door to the Community Hall, you will find Horsing Around Rentals, where you can rent bikes or surrey bikes to cruise around the Resort. This is one of my family's favorite Resort activities, and the Saratoga Springs jogging/biking path is one of my favorites. It's the best way to explore the beauty of the Resort, including amazing views of Disney Springs from across Lake Buena Vista, and the path stays true to the Resort's horse-racing theme by measuring and marking the path in furlong, instead of miles. How cool is that?! Plus, if you are a Disney Vacation Club Member, while discounts are subject to change, right now, you can get a 15 percent discount on the already affordable bike rentals! Membership magic!

Of course, in July, you and your kids will probably want to spend a lot of downtime splashing in the pools, and the five pools (Yes, FIVE!) at Saratoga Springs are AMAZING. The Paddock Pool is one of my very favorite pools in all of Walt Disney World Resort because of the zero-depth entry, the oh-so-fun waterslide, the nearby water playground, and The Paddock Grill, which is a hidden gem, in my opinion. The two feature pools will have daily fun poolside activities, such as Disney trivia and BINGO, typically from 12:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., and my wife and I either participate in the fun or let our kiddo enjoy the games while we watch and relax poolside with a cocktail.

Finish up your Resort day with some s'mores at the campfire and then watch Movies Under the Stars to top off what is sure to be your family's BEST. DAY. EVER!

I hope this was helpful, Paul, and I hope you and your family have the time of your lives on your upcoming adventure! Stop by any time with any questions you may have along the way. You've got a friend in me!

    See ya real soon,

    Mandy
