Hello, Mary,
Oh no! I hope you are OK. It’s never any fun to have to miss out on a visit to The Happiest Place on Earth.
Yes, a partially-used or wholly unused
Southern California resident weekday ticket may be upgraded to a different ticket type of equal or greater value. A partially-used ticket must be upgraded before midnight of the last day that the ticket is valid. That would be on the third day of use or May 25, 2023, whichever comes first. If the ticket were
wholly unused, it could be upgraded at any time,
even if the expiration date has passed. To upgrade your ticket to a different type of theme park ticket, you must visit a ticket booth at the Disneyland Resort. The full difference between the amount originally paid for the ticket and the new ticket price must be paid at the time of the upgrade.
Another option to consider is upgrading your partially-used theme park ticket to an available
Disneyland Resort Magic Key pass. This option is even easier, as it can be done by opening the Tickets and Passes screen from the ☰ feature menu of the
Disneyland mobile app and tapping the “Upgrade to a Magic Key Pass” button. As with upgrading to a different ticket type,
upgrading a theme park ticket to a Magic Key pass must be done while the ticket is still valid. That is, the upgrade must be done by midnight of the last day of use or the expiration date, whichever comes first. As a Magic Key holder myself, I can attest to the
amazing benefits that await those who join the Magic Key family.
If illness or other hardship should get in your way, I hope you overcome it quickly, Mary. I’m wishing for a pixie-dusted day of
fantasy and
adventure for you soon.
~Tony
