On the day we arrive, we won't have tickets to the parks. Where are we able to eat? Obviously our own resort and Downtown Disney but what other options are available? Could we eat at another hotel? Thanks!

    Hi, Ilona!

What a coincidence! I'm planning the very same thing for a whirlwind, last-minute trip, and we are in the same situation you are!

Some of our favorite dining locations are at the various Walt Disney World Resorts. You can make a reservation for a delicious Table Service meal or just head to a popular Quick Service location, whichever you prefer. Take a look at some of the options available by heading over to Walt Disney World Dining; I warn you, though. There are dozens of choices, so let's narrow some down.

Consider resorts which are located close to a park. From the bus stop at the park, you can hop onto a resort bus (or monorail, or boat, depending on where you've chosen to dine) and head to the resort in which your restaurant is located. Reverse the order for your return home.

The monorail-accessible resorts have many wonderful options, so take a monorail from Magic Kingdom. Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge offers great Quick and Table Service locations, along with spectacular views of the savannah. It's a great place to spend a few hours. For a wonderful Table Service meal, we love Sanaa, at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas-Kidani Village. Both of these resorts are accessible by a  5-minute bus ride from Animal Kingdom.

Then again, you can spend a lot of time enjoying an afternoon as well as nighttime entertainment at Disney's BoardWalk. If you are there during Epcot's IllumiNations, head over to the bridge that crosses over the water near the World Showcase entrance to Epcot. You'll have a nice view of the firework portion of the show, a perfect way to cap off a ticketless evening in Walt Disney World.

Happy planning, Ilona! Send more questions as you think of them; we love to help!
