Hiya Heather!
Thank you so much for stopping by planDisney with your
Annual Pass question! My family and I have been Annual Passholders for over 15 years, and as fellow Florida residents, it truly feels like having a little key to the magic right in my backyard. Some of our favorite days are the spontaneous ones when we hop in the car and head to Walt Disney World just because we can. Those low-key park days are just some of our favorites.
So Heather, let’s jump right into your question! For
new Annual Passholders, your pass officially starts on the first day you use it to enter a park, not the day you purchase it. Your pass is valid for one full year from that first park entry. It is important to know that if you purchase a pass but do not activate it by entering a park within one year of purchase, it will expire. So, you will want to make sure you tap into the magic within that timeframe.
If you are renewing your pass, that works a little differently. You have up to 30 days after your anniversary date to renew and keep those renewal benefits. Your anniversary date typically stays the same each year, kind of like your own personal Disney tradition.
Being an Annual Passholder comes with some really fun
perks, too. You can enjoy discounts on select dining and merchandise, and sometimes even special discounted pricing on events like
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party or
After Hours events. There are also exclusive treats, limited-time snacks, and merchandise just for passholders sprinkled throughout the year.
Heather, I hope this helps answer your question. If you have any more questions, feel free to visit us again.
See you real soon,
Christina
