Dave & I need help planning our 1st WDW trip for our 40th anniversary on Aug 1. We will need a scooter due to extended walking. Want to visit each park for one day. Want to stay on campus. Please help!

Hi there, Lori! Greetings from all of us here at planDisney! Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by and ask your wonderful Walt Disney World Resort vacation question!

Congratulations on 40 magical years together! I personally believe that planning your very first visit to Walt Disney World Resort is the perfect way to celebrate such a momentous occasion!

First of all, I just wanted to point out that Walt Disney World Resort has a wide variety of services and accommodations available to Guests with Disabilities including those with mobility disabilities! Guests can rent both wheelchairs and Electrical Conveyance Vehicles (ECVs) daily at all four theme parks, both water parks, and Disney Springs on a First-Come, First-Serve basis. That being said, if you feel as though you will need an ECV for the full duration of your stay, I would recommend looking into an outside provider. ScooterBug, the Disney Featured Provider, rents mobility devices for the full-length of your stay and can deliver your equipment directly to your Disney Resort hotel!

If you are interested in visiting one park per day, you can look into purchasing base theme park tickets. These tickets do not include the Park Hopper option which allows Guests to visit multiple parks per day and are a bit less expensive. For your upcoming stay, you will also need to make theme park reservations for each day you plan on visiting a park through the Disney Park Pass system. Once you’ve purchased your tickets, you will then be able to reserve your entry into each park you plan on visiting throughout your vacation.

Finally, you are going to want to look through all of the Disney Resort hotels and decide which one fits your budget and preference! You may want to ask yourself where you would like to stay in relation to certain theme parks, what amenities are important to you, and how much you are willing to spend on your lodging. This will assist you in narrowing down which Disney Resort hotels you are most interested in! It may also be helpful for you to check out the “Special Offers, Deals, & Discounts” webpage as you are making your decision. On this page, you will find all sorts of discounts on Disney Resort hotel rooms as well as full vacation packages!

I hope you have a wonderful time celebrating your anniversary this summer at Walt Disney World Resort! Please let us know if we can answer any other questions for you!
