My daughters (who will be 11 and 9 at the time of the race) want to run the Expedition Everest Challenge with us in 2015. I cannot find a confirmation regarding a pacing requirement. Is it a 16-minute mile? We have to start our training!

    Greetings, Kristen!

How exciting you will be making the 2015 Expedition Everest Challenge a family affair. I completed this race a few years back with my then nine year old son and we had a blast! We utilized the run/walk method advocated by the official runDisney Training Consultant, Jeff Galloway. By using the run/walk method to train with, and race with, the whole family will be able to stay together and finish strong!

The pacing requirement for the Expedition Everest Challenge is a 16 minute per mile pace. However, the pacing clock will not start until the very last runner, in the very last wave, crosses the starting line, so you technically have a bit more time.

I hope this information is helpful, Kristen! Please do not hesitate to ask any additional questions you may have regarding the Expedition Everest Challenge, or any runDisney event!

    Happy Training!
