My daughters are participating in Dance the World 2014. We will get our reservation numbers only a few weeks before travel. How do I make ADr's and event reservations 180 days out and then link them with our trip? Thanks for your help!

    Hi Todd!

Dance the World is such an amazing program, your daughter will have the time of her life!  My daughter's dance studio participated in Dance The World this past July and everyone had a magical time!  With Dance the World, we did not receive a detailed itinerary until just before the dancers left for the vacation.  This makes it tricky for planners like us to make Advanced Dining Reservations.  Because you will not have your confirmation numbers, you will have to make your Advanced Dining Reservations (and other reservations) on a daily basis, 180 days in advance for each day.  Your reservations will be available on My Disney Experience, and once you have your finalized schedule with times for Dance the World you can add those events to My Disney Experience as well.

Also, because you don't have your final schedule, what many of the families ended up doing was making large reservations at a variety of different times and once the schedule came out, they kept the reservations that worked and cancelled the ones that didn't quite fit.  For example, three families knew they wanted to dine at Be Our Guest Restaurant on the day the girls were scheduled for rehearsal, so each family booked a time within a few hours of each other.  When we found out what time rehearsal was, the families picked the best time, and the other two families canceled the reservations that did not fit with the schedule.  It was more work, but they were able to dine at Be Our Guest Restaurant.

I would also recommend looking at where your daughter will be performing and book your dining reservations as close to that area as possible.  If you are dancing in Downtown Disney try to make your dining reservations in Downtown Disney as well to minimize travel time.

Please let me know if you have any other questions leading up to Dance the World.  I would be more than happy to help!
