Hello and welcome to
planDisney, Randy. Thanks for stopping by with your question.
I did take a look at the
calendar for Magic Kingdom Park and can confirm that it is indeed closing at 4:30 p.m. on May 15th. The early closure is for Cast Member Service Celebrations that were originally supposed to take place in 2020 and 2021 but were postponed because of the circumstances. This was announced a few months back and has been in place on the theme park hours calendar. It's a truly special event just for the people who make Walt Disney World the
Most Magical Place On Earth!
If your family would like, they are still more than welcome to enjoy Magic Kingdom Park all day up until 4:30 p.m. If they would rather, however, they could always change their
park pass reservations to another theme park that has hours later in the night. On that day EPCOT closes at 9:00 p.m., Disney's Hollywood Studios closes at 9:00 p.m. and Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park closes at 8:00 p.m. Another option for them would be to upgrade their park tickets to a park hopper so they could still enjoy Magic Kingdom Park in the morning and then another theme park later in the day. However, your daughter's tickets won't automatically be converted into park hopper tickets. They would need to have them upgraded and pay the difference.
If they do decide to
park hop, those hours now start at 2:00 p.m. and last until each park closes in the evening. They'll need to scan into the theme park with the park pass reservation first before continuing on to other parks later in the day. However, it is not necessary or even possible to make multiple park pass reservations for one day - just that initial one will do.
I hope your family enjoys the day at Walt Disney World, whatever they end up deciding, Randy. If you have any other questions about this or anything else, please feel free to stop back by and
ask me. I'm here to help.
Have a great day!
Jackie H.
