My daughters have their heart set on a room that is all booked up for the discount prices, and we can't afford to pay full price. If there are empty full price rooms when I check in, am I able to switch rooms? Is there anything else I could be doing?

    Hi, Robyn!

The number of rooms with Special Offer pricing are always limited. Most resorts run at or very near capacity, so there usually are not many rooms to upgrade to at check-in, and they might charge you the difference in price to make the upgrade so you would not be ahead with the cost anyway. All that said, it never hurts to ask at check-in!

Keep checking for a Special Offer for your travel dates, but I cannot guarantee you will find the rate you are looking for. Let's flip this around, and you pay for the room you really want, how can you save in other ways?

-Update your travel package and take off any park ticket add-ons such as park hopper or water park fun and more. While nice to have, you can save a lot of money by taking these options off. Instead, swim at your own pool and enjoy your resort!
-In lieu of a pricey dinner one night, opt to stay in, enjoy a movie under the stars at your resort and grab a whole pizza for your family to share. Economical and yummy!
-If you are flying in, do not rent a car but use Magical Express transportation from the airport
-Set a modest spending limit on souvenirs. Shopping can get very out of control, so keep your cost down.
-Bring basics from home that will be pricey to buy in WDW...sunscreen, autograph books, snacks, crackers, or cereal bars.

I hope you find a way to reserve the perfect room at your desired resort, but if not, remember that regardless of where you stay, every guest at every resort will be treated like royalty by the amazing Cast Members at Walt Disney World!
