Hi Moms, it will be my daughters (8 and 6) first time at WDW and I am looking for suggestions of character dining. We have the DDP, is more than one character meal/day overkill? Recommendations for each park would be MUCH appreciated!

Hello, Angela! It sounds like you are planning a really magical vacation for your daughters! I cannot think of a better way to celebrate a first Walt Disney World vacation than by dining with favorite Disney Characters at one of the many fabulous character dining locations.

If your daughters are anything like my six year old, it's all about the Disney Princesses! I made sure to select breakfast reservations for Cinderella's Royal Table and Akershus Royal Banquet Hall for my upcoming vacation just for the experience of dining with the princesses. Another benefit of character dining? You won't have to spend time waiting in lines for your favorite Disney Characters, so you can spend more time relaxing on your vacation.

I personally think one character meal each day should be fine, but it all depends on how much your family likes to eat. My family and I don't do a lot of heavy eating on our vacations and tend to enjoy a big breakfast and a light dinner, with a bit of snacking in between, so we are good with just one big character meal each day. With a variety of uniquely-themed restaurants and the opportunity to meet 'n' greet favorite Disney Characters at other locations at the theme parks, one character meal per day may be just right for your family, too.

The official Walt Disney World Resort website has a dining section that lists all of the character dining locations in one place. From there, you can compare the Cuisine, Price Range, Location and more. Don't forget that there are also some really great Character Dining locations at the Disney Resort hotels too, like Chef Mickey's at Disney's Contemporary Resort and 'Ohana at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort.

I hope that you have a magical vacation, Angela! If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to stop back by the Moms Panel. Happy planning!
