my daughters bithday is November 16 and we would love to take her we went the first week of december last year and it was far busier then we expected, but my real question is if we go then do we miss of the christmas decorations, what date do they begin?

Hi Joseph!  The first week of December this past year was busy as I was also there!  I think many guests are coming at that time to enjoy the taping of the annual Christmas Day Parade in the Magic Kingdom!

I am sure your daughter would love to celebrate her 16th birthday at Walt Disney World!  This year she would be able to get into a park for free on her actual birthday or receive something else special if she already has a valid park ticket. The crowds at that time are usually quite manageable as it is before the big Thanksgiving holiday week.  The weather is also usually superb!  You will miss out on many of the Christmas decorations as they perhaps will start to show up but nothing is really going strong until Thanksgiving week.  It used to be done almost over night the day after Thanksgiving but they are preparing much earlier now.  Unfortunately, they do not have a set time table for decorating the parks for the holidays.

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party normally begins mid November so you might have the opportunity to experience this fun event.  The dates have not been published but keep on the look-out on the Disney website in the next few months to see the 2009 dates and times.
