Hi Chad,
I've seen all kinds of special acknowledgements of birthdays at Walt Disney World restaurants. If you stop by the Guest Services desk at any of the four major Disney theme parks as you enter, you can pick up a complimentary birthday button for your daughter to wear on her special day. As Cast Members see her button, they will be sure to greet her enthusiastically and give her many birthday wishes. Sometimes birthday girls find pixie dust on their restaurant tables. I have seen entire restaurants (Whispering Canyon Cafe, for instance) sing to birthday celebrants, but this is not a guaranteed occurrence. Be sure to let the host or hostess who greets you at the restaurant know that you are celebrating a birthday. One never knows what kind of celebrating might take place. There is no standard protocol for birthdays at Disney restaurants. The mystery is half the fun!
If you want to be sure that a custom-designed cake is waiting for you at the Disney table service restaurant where you'll be dining, call the cake hotline at (407) 827-2253. Plan to call 48 hours in advance of your reservation. Smaller, less intricate cakes are typically available at Disney table service restaurants without advance notice. Simply ask your server.
If you are staying at a Disney resort and wish to order a special surprise for the birthday girl to find back in your guest room, check out the many options available through
Disney Florist. They have a delightful array of options for birthday celebrations.
When the big day rolls around, please wish your daughter a truly magical birthday from the entire Walt Disney World Moms Panel!
Jill
