My daughter's 5th birthday is in August but I want to celebrate in June by taking her to Disney World for the first time. Even though it won't quite be her birthday, can she still pick a day and pretend it's her birthday?

    Absolutely!

If your dream is to celebrate your daughter's birthday during her first trip to WDW, then by all means pick a day to enjoy.

In fact, make the whole vacation her birthday. Get a free birthday button at City Hall in the Magic Kingdom and let her wear it proudly. Turning five is a huge deal after all.

Let your restaurant servers know that it's her birthday too. If you are staying at a WDW resort, let the hotel know that you'll be checking in with a birthday guest. Magical things will happen. For instance, our son got a signed Mickey photo and balloons.
