Hello Sarah!
A mother to 2 hearing impaired children myself, I understand your situation. We both know that our kids are extremely sensitive to loud noises. Now that my own kids are a little bit older, they know how to make noises more comfortable for their own level of hearing. When they were younger, like your daughter, I had to take more control. And obviously, that can never be ideal for the hearing impaired or deaf child. If an attraction was too loud, I would turn off their aids. I used their reaction as a guide for me. It should also help that your daughter will have her cousins there with her for reassurance. Before I continue, please take a look at the
Services for Guests with Hearing Disabilities at Walt Disney World. Does your daughter have enough hearing for Assistive Listening Devices? If so, they are available. If she is completely deaf, Sign Language Interpretation is available at many shows with a minimum of 14 day day advance notice of your visit. We really enjoy the Reflective Captioning Service, but it requires the user to be able to read. Since your daughter is so young, that is probably not ideal. Feel free to write back if I can help with more specific questions after you have had the chance to look at the information I provided you. It will help me greatly to know your daughter's level of hearing, and whether or not she is aided.
Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
I wish you a truly magical vacation.
