Hi, Melania!
Thank you for bringing your
Disneyland Resort question to us here at
planDisney. I’m thrilled to hear your family is planning a visit to the Happiest Place on Earth!
It sounds like you’re already aware of the
Disability Access Service (DAS) program that is available to Guests who are unable to wait for
attractions in a traditional standby queue due to a developmental disability like autism or a similar disorder. If approved, this program allows the individual who requires DAS and their party to receive a return time for attractions based on the current wait time.
To inquire, your daughter should plan to have a pre-registration video chat (with her son present) via the link on the
DAS registration page. She may do this as soon as 30 days prior to your family’s vacation. The maximum party size allowed is the registered DAS Guest plus up to three additional party members (for a total of four people), but exceptions can be made depending on the ages of the Guests or for immediate family members. Since Cast Members work with Guests on a case-by-case basis to determine the available options to best suit their needs, your daughter should ask any questions she has about the size of your party during the video chat and they will explore the options together. If she prefers to register on site after you all arrive at the resort, she can instead plan to speak with an Accessibility Services Cast Member in person to determine your grandson’s eligibility.
I hope this helps and that your whole family enjoys a pixie-dusted vacation, Melania! Please feel free to
write back with more questions as your planning continues.
Wishing you magic,
Courtney
