Dear Jamie,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Family birthday celebrations at Walt Disney World make my heart so, so happy, and I love that you’re trying to find a way to make sure your little princess is involved in the special occasion.
The Princess Promenade at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is a magical experience where children can share a dance with a royal couple. You’re right that it’s restricted to children ages 3 and up; age restrictions are usually for safety reasons (there’s a very grand staircase involved in the promenade, and we know not all princesses do so well with staircases…am I right, Cinderella?). It’s a wonderful moment to watch, but I can understand how frustrating that might be for a little one who wants to join the dance. I do want to add that the Princess Promenade is considered a Magical Moment and is therefore not guaranteed to happen every day.
Jamie, I have a few ideas that would include your princess and that have delighted my children. What about dressing your daughter up in a princess gown, complete with hair sparkles or other glittery accents, and joining the group of family members at Princess Fairytale Hall or Anna and Elsa’s
Royal Sommerhus? Princesses love meeting their fellow royalty, and the adorable interaction makes for a perfect photo opportunity that you will treasure for years to come. Another idea is to schedule a princess meal, such as Cinderella’s Royal Table, Akershus, or
Disney's Perfectly Princess Tea.
These family moments together are so special, and I hope you enjoy every moment of the magical birthday celebration!
