My daughter will be a week shy of 3 years old when we travel to WDW in October and, thus, too young for the BBB. Does the Harmony Barber Shop (or anywhere else) do "princess" hairstyles? Also, can we shop at the BBB w/o a package? DD would lov

Hi, Jessica! I admire your integrity, but I think you can certainly make a Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique reservation since your daughter will be so painfully close to three on your trip. (No one is going to ask for her birth certificate.) I understand the reason for the age parameters since many moms desire for their daughters to have a BBB appointment. However, sometimes when the girls are younger than three, it can actually be a confusing and negative experience since they may not completely understand what is going on!

If your daughter will be just shy of turning three, she's probably fully aware of what is required of a salon experience -- someone besides mommy brushing her hair, pulling her hair tight, hairspray, keeping her hands still for nail polish, etc. I always recommend that guests "practice" at home so that the little princess knows what to expect and can anticipate the event even more!

Lastly, the shopping portion of the BBB is separate than the salon area (which can get really crowded). Therefore, you're welcome to browse the shop before, after or instead of an appointment. However, they usually limit the number of guests entering the salons to only those with appointments -- daddies and brothers tend to shy away anyway when they see the cloud of hairspray hovering in the room!

In answer to your question about Harmony Barber Shop, they do some neat hairstyles there, too -- complete with Pixie Dust and colored hair sprays and gels. They serve guests on a first-come, first-served basis. However, the signature princess hairstyles are only available through BBB. In addition, there are hair salons(which usually require an appointment) throughout the WDW resorts where traditional hairstyling is available as well as the pixie-dusted variety.

Have a beautiful Alabama day and a magical vacation!
