All my daughter wants to do is to be able to use Snapchat on the boat. Which plan does she need?

Ahoy there, Jennifer. With your cruise just a month away, I’m so glad you thought to sail by planDisney with your questions. You’ve got a friend in me and I’m here to help ensure you and your daughter stay connected at sea!

As much as there is to see and do during your Disney Cruise, I understand your daughter not wanting to be without Snapchat. As the mom of two teenagers, I always try to find that perfect mix of time together on vacation while allowing them their own space to make new friends (and stay in touch with those at home). With that in mind, I would recommend the Internet Package, which includes access to the internet, social media, texting, Zoom, and Wi-Fi calling (but excludes music streaming and long-form videos). While prices are subject to change without notice and can vary based on the ship, pricing for the Internet option starts at $22 per day for one device.

If you decide you also want to access more of the long-form streaming sites (like YouTube, Disney+, ESPN+, Hulu, Max, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Peacock, Paramount +, and more), I would choose the Internet + Streaming Package, which currently starts at $35 per day. With either Internet Package, you can purchase access for a single day or for the length of your voyage.

You can also choose an option that will let you connect up to four devices. If you purchase a package with multiple devices, everyone in your stateroom can share it using the same login details. If they try to log in on more devices than were purchased, they will be prompted with a message offering them to upgrade to more devices, or they will be logged out on a previous device if they continue. For example, I once purchased a single-device package, but had both my iPhone and my laptop, so I had to log out of the WiFi on one device before connecting to the other.

Even If you decide not to purchase an internet package, you and your crew can keep in touch on the ship thanks to the chat feature on the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app. Download the app before your trip and once on board, connect to the DCL-Guest WiFi. Every Guest is assigned a Chat ID within the app, so you can keep in touch and use fun Disney emoticons while doing it.

I know that’s a lot of information, Jennifer, so if you have any further questions, don’t hesitate to sail back to us here at planDisney. I hope this puts your mind at ease and has you dreaming about your upcoming days at sea!

    Embrace the magic,
    Sami
