My daughter wants to plan out our dream vacation and I’m trying limit screentime. Is there any printed material that we can buy or print? It’a helping her to believe everything will be ok someday.

    Hi Veronica!

I can see why you and your Cinderella are eager to start planning a Walt Disney World vacation! While “a dream is a wish your heart makes”, we are all ready to awaken from this slumber and have the pixie dust fly again. So happy to be your Fairy Godmother in your quest for materials to plan your dream vacation!

I’ve been told I’m a bit “old school” with my planning and research, but I love books, and my local library has an amazing assortment of Disney planning guides. Buying them from a bookstore or online would be most appealing right now, especially the ones with fairytale photography. It’s like a glass slipper that will surely fit at a time like this!

I know you are wanting to limit screen time, but I would suggest having limited intervals for viewing and exploring the best online resources. Some of the most current information is found with the click of a mouse (Gus and Jaq approved) like the The Disney Parks Blog and Walt Disney World. You can also use the hashtag #DisneyMagicMoments to easily find inspiration.

Disney has been sharing recipes that would surely lift everyone’s spirits as the perfect planning takes place. My favorites have been the The Kitchen Sink sundae from Beaches & Cream Soda Shop at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts and Tonga Toast from Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort.

I’ve been so impressed at all the creativity and ingenuity that Disney super fans have been showing with their at home projects during this time. From DIY attractions to printable projects to scavenger hunts, it’s been the pixie dust we’ve all needed. Maybe as you map out your dream vacation plans, you can celebrate each park you plan on visiting as the "Park of the Day" at your home. Make a must do list of favorite attractions, snacks, and experiences you hope to have. For instance, we decorated our kitchen door with our magnets (aka printables downloaded from Disney Cruise Line) to commemorate the Disney cruise we would have been sailing on.

So it’s only fitting that I end this answer with an assignment for you: listen to the Dapper Dans as they sing “A Dream Is a Wish Your Heart Makes” and let your imaginations soar. Stop back by the Disney Parks Moms Panel and we will be sure to have a ball together making magical plans together with you and your family!

    Don’t Stop Dreaming!
