My daughter wants her hair braided, can this be done on the ship or where do you recommend she have it done while in the Bahamas? We are cruising on the 4 night cruise.

Ahoy there, Katelyn, and welcome aboard planDisney! Thanks for sailing our way with your question!

I'm so excited for you that you'll be embarking in just a few short weeks - you'll have to come back and tell me all about it! On your 4-night cruise on the Disney Magic, you'll be surrounded by gourmet dining options, amazing entertainment, sparkling pools, and the open sea, all while making memories that will last a lifetime! It's a luxury cruise, a Disney vacation, and a tropical beach vacation at the same time - it really is three vacations in one!

Speaking of tropical vacations, if there's one thing that says, "I went on a tropical vacation" more than a tan or wicked sunburn, it's definitely a hair wrap or braids! As a guy with long hair, I always get asked if I've ever had it braided, and the answer is yes - but never on one of my Disney Cruise Line vacations - but there are opportunities to do so! Hair braiding is offered aboard each of the  Disney Cruise Line ships - with the exception of when the Disney Wonder is sailing Alaskan itineraries!

I've seen plenty of Princesses and Princes sitting happily in a chair on the pool decks while an amazing crew member braids their hair - what a great way to remember their trip! While your daughter's hair probably isn't as long as Rapunzel's, I'm sure she'll love having the braids done! Usually the braiding stations are located amidships right near the pool decks, but I suggest checking the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app for times and location on your particular sailing. Availability is always subject to change and last time I cruised it was a very popular activity, so I'd be sure to get your daughter's braids done the first chance you get!

If you all are having just too much fun experiencing everything that's included in your Disney Cruise Line vacation and you miss your chances to have her hair braided while aboard, you may be able to have it braided during your day on Disney Castaway Cay! Each time I've visited, there has been a hair braiding area on the right side of the walkway leading to the family beach, so keep your eyes peeled! Oh, and aside from being another opportunity to make your daughter's vacation just that much more magical, it's a great way to take a break from the sun!

And if you're looking for a bit of pampering yourself, don't forget to check out the treatments available at Senses Spa & Salon! You deserve an awesome memory, too!

I do hope that you, your daughter, and your entire crew have a magical vacation and that her braids remind her of the incredible time you all have! Thank you again, Katelyn, for dropping me a line! If you have any additional questions as your vacation gets closer please sail my way again here at planDisney!

    Fair winds and following seas,
