my daughter wants to go to downtown disney this year. do you have to pay to get into the resort to get into downtown disney? we only budget to do one theme park a year and this year is animal kingdom so we can't afford to do both.

    Hi Sara,

Animal Kingdom is a great park to visit!  It's absolutely gorgeous, and the attention to detail is amazing; I'm sure you'll have a wonderful vacation!

There is no charge to go to Downtown Disney.  You can browse through a variety of shops and soak up the atmosphere & entertainment for FREE!!  Now, I can't say that you won't be tempted to purchase a souvenir (or two) and grab a treat at Goofy's Candy Company -- the shops in Disney offer something for everyone.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
