Robert from Guanacaste Asked Note: This answer was provided prior to the change to planDisney and may still contain references to Disney Parks Moms Panel.

My daughter wants to bring her daughter, a toddler age 13 months. Are children under 3 allowed?

Hiya, Robert, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am so excited for you to begin your Disneyland Resort adventures today! You are going to make so many special memories with your family.

Yes, children under the age of 3 are definitely allowed inside the Disneyland Resort! Mickey Mouse is excited to welcome both the young, and the young at heart, into his magical land. You may have noticed the age breakdown on the Tickets page, which shows the cost of admission for ages 3-9, and for ages 10+. Children under the age of 3 don’t require a ticket, but are certainly allowed inside both theme parks.

I’ve been bringing my little Mouseketeers to the Happiest Place on Earth since they were only a couple months old, and I have the cutest pictures from those days. Be sure to stop by City Hall in Disneyland Park, or Chamber of Commerce in Disney California Adventure Park, for a complimentary “1st Visit!” button for your granddaughter. Characters and Cast Members will love giving her extra Disney magic and well wishes when they see her button!

I also recommend adding Disney MaxPass to your tickets, if you haven’t already. It’s a great tool for making digital Disney FASTPASS selections from the convenience of your phone. You won’t need to purchase it for your granddaughter, since she doesn’t have a ticket yet. Another handy helper is the Disneyland app, which allows you to access MaxPass, make dining reservations, check wait times, mobile order food, and find your favorite Characters.

Speaking of checking wait times, here’s a helpful list of attractions available to all heights, so your entire group can enjoy them together. Some of my family’s favorites include “it’s a small world,” Casey Jr. Circus Train, the Disneyland Railroad, and Peter Pan’s Flight.

Be sure to let your daughter know about the amazing Baby Care Centers available in both parks, too. There’s one at the end of Main Street, U.S.A. inside Disneyland Park, and one on Pacific Wharf in Disney California Adventure Park. The Centers are the perfect spot to feed, change, nurse, or even purchase baby supplies.

Wishing you a day filled with family fun and Disney magic!
