My daughter turns 11 on embarkation day on our upcoming cruise. She wants to go to the kids club with her siblings, will she still be able to go there? I can't understand why DCL changed the age from 12 to 10.

    Hi there, Angela!

Thank you for stopping by planDisney with your question! Sailing aboard the Disney Cruise Line is one of my most favorite ways to enjoy a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. My kids love playing in the pools, my husband enjoys spending time in the adults-only areas, and I like it all!

Kids between 3 and 10 years old can enjoy Disney's Oceaneer Club. I am sorry! My kids love Disney's Oceaneer Club, and I know how disappointing it will be when they can no longer visit this super cool, kid-friendly area. Fortunately, kids ages 11 to 14 can hang out in the exclusive tween area, Edge! Various fun activities take place in Edge, such as scavenger hunts, dance parties, karaoke, and more. My older child looks forward to meeting new friends of similar ages at Edge during our next Disney Cruise. Since your oldest child is turning 11 on embarkation day, it never hurts to talk to a Cast Member at Disney's Oceaneer Club to explore all possible options.

Although my kids love Disney's Oceaneer Club, they also enjoy other amenities on the ship that are open to anyone. We spend a lot of time at the pool, where they splish-splash the afternoon away while I relax in a lounge chair reading a good book and my husband naps. Meeting Disney Characters, watching the evening shows, and eating all of the snacks are just some of the ways that my family enjoys a Disney Cruise Line voyage together.

Angela, I am sorry this was not the news you were hoping for. Fortunately, there are still plenty of activities for your entire family to experience!

    Happy sailing!
