Hi, my daughter turns 3 during our trip. We are not staying on site but will be purchasing a 14 day ticket, do we need a ticket for her?

    Hello,

Thank you for stopping by planDisney with your question. Megan, this December visit is going to be a great one! And I have to tell you about some things that are happening during this stay that you won’t want to miss.

Walt Disney World Resort really goes the distance when it comes to decorating for the holidays. It sounds like this visit is going to be a birthday celebration as well, so happiest birthdays to your little lady. Since she will be turning three during the trip, she will need tickets to be purchased. All visitors under three are Mickey’s guest, but once you cross into the three year-old territory, tickets are needed. This birthday celebration is going to be happening while you are visiting, might I recommend setting up some Advanced Dining Reservations. You can add a Mickey Celebration Cake and they serve 4 to 6 people. They can also be delivered to select restaurants. If you would rather make these reservations in person, make sure you visit the restaurant of your liking at least four days before your meal to have this request fulfilled. If you would like to call ahead to make reservations that is an option as well. An excellent tool you will want to download once you are in the states is the My Disney Experience App. You’ll be able to see wait times for your favorite attractions, and order food ahead of arriving at participating quick service locations. It’s just an all-around great app to have for your time visiting.

When you visit EPCOT during your stay the International Festival of the Holidays will be in season. This festival is a celebration of the holidays through the eyes of all the different countries. There will be storytellers in nine different countries that you can find, they will be sharing traditions passed down from generations. They will  be talking about what the holidays mean to them and how they celebrate. I’m all about the food when it comes to these festivals and when I mean food, I really mean snacks. The Festival of the Holidays will continue the annual Cookie Stroll. There are select locations where you can purchase a holiday cookie. If you purchase at least five different holiday cookies you can return to the Holiday Sweets and Treats location with your passport stamped, and you will receive a special gift. I love this special gift option because I was going to buy five cookies anyway, and this is an absolute bonus.

    Have a magical day,

    Jeremy A.
