my daughter turns 2 December 20 but we are going in February to celebrate her birthday. February was the soonest we could go. even though her birthday has past when we go can we still get the birthday button and things for her birthday?

    Hi David,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you for your question. I just got back from a truly magical birthday celebration at Walt Disney World! It was so wonderful to celebrate my special day in my happy place with my favorite people.

David, my son had a belated birthday celebration at Walt Disney World earlier this year. He wore the birthday button proudly and we planned a whole special “birthday” day filled with all his favorite things (Star Wars, Frozen, Mickey slushies, fireworks, and giant lollipops, to be exact). It didn’t matter one bit that it wasn’t his actual birthday – we sure partied like it was!

I love a celebration, so I have some advice for you. Make sure to call (407) WDW-DINE to add a note to your dining reservations that you’re celebrating you little one’s big day. Sometimes there is birthday pixie dust when your server knows there’s a birthday happening. Also, that birthday button is definitely not a one-day-only thing. She should wear it every day, and everyone else in your party can wear “I’m Celebrating” buttons too. I just love getting birthday wishes from fellow Guests and Cast Members.

I also LOVE a birthday t-shirt! I saw the sweetest birthday girl wearing a glittery birthday shirt on a recent trip, and her whole family wore “Birthday Squad” tees to match. It was precious! Walt Disney World also sells adorable birthday-themed Minnie Mouse ear headbands that would be so cute for pictures. Another forever memory might be a special birthday breakfast at Chef Mickey’s or another character meal to celebrate the big TWO!

I’m wishing your daughter the most magical birthday celebration, and all of you a vacation filled with special moments.
