Welcome to planDisney, Danielle! The
Disney Wonder is an amazing ship with some of the most incredible destinations. My teens keep asking to go back on this one as our cruise to Alaska is one of their favorite vacations ever.
I can certainly understand you wanting your kids to be able to hang out together for the youth activities. Depending on the number of youth ages 11-13,
Edge may allow 10-year-olds to register with their parent's consent. The cutoff for this is the child's birthday. They have to be 10. I know one week is so close, but for the safety of the youth onboard, they follow the guidelines strictly.
I know this is not the answer you were hoping for, but it does not mean your youth do not have opportunities to spend time together on the cruise. When I was in this same situation (my kids are close to three years apart too), we had rules for them on the ship: They could go off together, as long as they did not go in the water, and they let us know where they were. No pools and no slides, but they could play shuffleboard and ping pong; go to the movies; or just enjoy exploring the ship on their own. They had to stay together and use the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator App chat function to let us know where they were. When my youngest was 9 years old, it was a level of responsibility he could handle, especially with his brother at his side. The question I asked them each time we reunited was "How many trips to
Eye Scream Treats were there?" It was - and is - one of their favorite destinations onboard.
The same strict adherence to birthdays does not apply to celebrations. Make sure you note her birthday on your cruise reservation, which you can do online or in the app under "Special Requests." It is not too early to start celebrating your princess and her big jump to double digits!
Happy cruising! If you have any other questions, please come back to
planDisney.
Cheers!
