My daughter is turning 16 and wants to wear a formal gown and tiara.... where could we go to dine dressed in this ...she asked about the California grill.. we also have at least 15 people who would like to dine with.. any suggestions...

    Hi Luz Maria,

Wow, what a wonderful way to celebrate a 16th birthday!

I think your daughter might be on to something with her idea about the California Grill. Considering she wants to be dressed to the nines, and considering the fact that you'll have a large party, dining at one of the resort hotels might be the best way to go.

That being said, here are a few ideas that I think should be considered:

    #1 - The California Grill

Since your daughter mentioned it, I think that needs to be first on my list. It's an incredible restaurant and the views of the Magic Kingdom are spectacular.

    #2 - Artist Point

This little gem of a restaurant is tucked inside of Disney's Wilderness Lodge and the food is just as breathtaking as the surroundings.

    #3 - Yachtsman Steakhouse

If your daughter loves steak, then consider pointing her in the direction of Disney's Yacht Club Resort. Now that I'm used to this restaurant, I no longer enjoy the steakhouses I used to frequent at home.

Here's a bonus idea from your buddy Derek:

If your daughter would be open to dining at one of the theme park restaurants for this wonderful occasion, then I'd vote for considering the Hollywood Brown Derby in Disney's Hollywood Studios. The walk to the restaurant wouldn't be as far as what you'd have to do for some of the other spiffy theme park restaurants (i.e. the ones in Epcot). Plus, it's a very swanky restaurant with awesome food and a table arrangement that should easily accommodate the size of your party.

I hope that helps! If you should have any other questions or would like additional ideas, please feel free to write back and I'll be happy to help in any way that I can.

    Best regards,
    Derek
