My daughter will be turning 3 mid trip. We want to use the Disney standard dining plan. Do we need to purchase a dinning plan for her or not since she will be 2 at time of purchase? Also dining at royal table w/ dining plan after bday pay or not? Tnx

    Hi, David!

You do not need to purchase tickets or a dining plan for your darling birthday princess for this vacation.  If she is 2 when you check-in, in Mickey's world she stays 2 for the rest of your trip.

Your 2 year old is welcome to share off your plate (which works best at buffets since it is all-you-care-to-eat) or family style locations, or you can pay out of pocket for her own meal.   When my kids were little, we usually shared at Table Service locations and would pay for their own meals at Quick Service locations.  The prices for Kids Meals Quick Service meals are usually very reasonable, and since she does not require a park ticket you will be way ahead of the game even if purchasing a few meals here and there for her.

The same will hold true at Cinderella's Royal Table.  Your princess can share your meal, or you can order her a Kids Meal (a kid's lunch at this location is approximately $35 - $40, prices a bit higher for dinner, lower at breakfast just to give you a ballpark figure).   If using the Disney Dining Plan, you will use 2 Table Service credits at this location.  Hopefully you will find a meal you can share since this is a bit pricey!

Enjoy your daughter's birthday in Walt Disney World, and enjoy her getting into the parks for FREE!   (A little bonus savings for mom and dad!)

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
