My daughter will be turning 5 in December 2011, We are planning a big trip to Disney World. She has Autism and is on a Gluten-Free diet. Does Disney have anything special for kids like her that might make our trip special?

    Hi Kimberly!
A very Happy Birthday to your little princess!! I can't think of a more magical place to spend a birthday!
As far as anything specific regarding your question, I guess the short answer would be that there is nothing "special" that Disney does for Guests with either condition that you mention. However, that does not mean that you won't have a memorable visit. First off, I would head into Guest Services and get your daughter a "Happy Birthday" and "I'm Celebrating" button for her to proudly wear throughout the parks. She will love hearing Cast Members and characters alike greeting her with "Happy Birthday, Princess!"
Also, regarding her dietary needs, most chefs would be happy to speak with you about what her options may be at most restaurants. especially table service restaurants where they can prepare her food to order. You may not have as much flexibility at a counter service restaurant, but I would still ask if there are gluten-free options. Disney has made huge strides in this regard over the past several years.
I hope this helps and I wish you a magical, memorable trip next month!! :)
