Welcome to planDisney!
So glad you have plans to sail with Captain Mickey! Every time Guests tell me about their plans for cruising, it makes me think of
Aladdin and the song “A Whole New World.” Maybe it reminds me of the lyrics, “I can show you the world, shining, shimmering splendid!” Disney Cruise Line has enabled my family to explore exotic destinations around the globe, which makes the ship more like a magic carpet!
Being a mom of a 20-year old also, I feel this question on so many levels. For years, my daughter loved hanging out in
Vibe and made so many connections there. It truly is a phenomenal experience for teens, so I know when they turn 18, they think: now what? But good news! Disney Cruise Line has created the 1820 Society, a social group for Guests who are...you guessed it, 18-20 years old. It offers planned events for young adults who have bridged the gap from the Youth Clubs, but still want to spend time with their peers.
Check the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app for the daily schedule of these events and be sure she attends the first 1820 Society event because it’s typically an icebreaker and gives everyone a chance to get to know one another! Then once they all have connected, they can choose where to meet up on the ship like the grown-ups that they are!
This may be a whole new world for your daughter in the best way possible because she can now enjoy any of the adult exclusive spaces onboard the ship like
Quiet Cove Pool;
Senses Spa and Salon;
Cove Café; and dinner or brunch at
Palo. My daughter cannot wait to try Palo for the first time and also have a massage in the spa! Truth be told, this mama is excited about doing those with her, too!
Just like Aladdin, rub the lamp and send us more planning questions. I promise you that we will not limit you to just three either! I hope you know that “you ain’t never had a friend like me” and my fellow panelist “Genies” when it comes to trip planning.
Happy Sailing!
