Hi Ryan,
You have come to the right place. Here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, we love helping other guests based on our own personal experiences. I have traveled to Walt Disney World many times with toddlers and I completely understand your dilemma.
Kids 3 years and under may eat free at the
buffet or family style restaurants. If you dine at a table service location, your daughter may eat off your plate. The server can bring you a small plate so that she can share off one of the adult's plates. If you choose to order a kids meal off the menu at any table service or quick service dining location, you may do so, but you will be charged for that meal. I hope this clarifies it all for you.
I also thought I'd offer some suggestions of my favorite buffet/family style locations that are fun for little ones.
Whispering Canyon Cafe at Disney's Wilderness Lodge is tons of fun. The cast members interact with the kids and the family style food is hearty and delicious.
1900 Park Fare at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort, is one of the best character meals with a buffet, in my opinion. Over at Disney's Animal Kingdom,
Tusker House has a wonderful buffet with classic buffet options, as well as a few African dishes that are amazing. Don't worry, there are items for the pickiest eaters, too. Lastly,
Crystal Palace is one of the most popular buffets and well-deserved of that guest popularity.
Bon Appetit!
