Ahoy, fellow Californian Eryn!
So glad to hear the you and your family will be heading out east to join in on the fun with Captain Mickey very soon. Your little princess will have such a blast on the Disney Cruise ship... I must warn you that she may find it a bit challenging to actually take a nap. But when jetlag hits - and it will... the youth counselors will surely accommodate her. When my son was little, he literally would nap at the Oceanneer Club/Lab twice each day. They have mats perfect for napping and a quick snooze - a power nap - is all that was needed, and he was back to all the fun and adventure. I would encourage you to speak to the youth counselors whenever you drop her off at the clubs... just to let them know that she may be napping at a certain time.
If you think she may need an extra quiet place, then you might want to reserve time slots at the Nursery. She is just turning 3 years old, she might actually prefer the
Nursery since it is quieter and a bit more mellow compared to the hoopla (though extremely fun) going on at the
Oceaneer Lab and Club. There is an additional $9 per hour charge for the Nursery, and you'll also need to book time in advance. On embarkation day, the youth clubs will have open house for most of the afternoon, so that you and your daughter can check out all the clubs and play. This will be a good time to scope out the different themed spaces and also get introduced to the youth counselors.
Your family will enjoy spending quality beach time fun at Castaway Cay. Building sand castles on the beach and running around will surely burn some energy. And you're only 10 minutes away from the ship. Enjoy your cruise!
