My daughter is traveling to Disneyworld with her Band/Colorguard group through Disney Imagination Campus. I am traveling there as well but not with their group. Once she has her park tickets am I able to add her to my group in MyDisneyexperience?

    Welcome to planDisney, Megan!

Oh, you are going to have an outstanding time visiting Walt Disney World while your daughter and her band/color guard are performing. Such a treat!

I've chaperoned my son's high school choir trip to WDW and, as a high school teacher, I often chaperone my own school's trips there as well. As such, I know it's super-easy to ensure that you and your daughter are connected in your My Disney Experience account, just as if you were traveling as a family.

Be sure that your daughter is added to your Family & Friend List in My Disney Experience. Because many students have previously traveled to WDW with their own families, those that have will use their original MDE Profile while visiting with the student group. Once your daughter's ticket number is linked to her MDE Profile, you'll both be able to see any plans made in My Disney Experience.

Of course, you won't be able to see trip specifics that are not included in MDE such as rehearsals, report times and locations, and band/color guard performance times, just as my student groups have expectations that we make apart from MDE. However, if your daughter has free time for touring the parks, you'll be able to plan with her just as if you had been spending the rest of the day together.

This means that you can include her in your Lightning Lane plans and Dining Options, plus, you can even see each others' PhotoPass Service pics throughout your stay. Because you'll be visiting with such a large group, I recommend you pre-purchase Memory Maker, too. Even if your daughter and her friends head off to one part of Magic Kingdom and your own group opts for a delicious dinner at Be Our Guest Restaurant, you'll still capture those magical moments in your My Disney Experience account--at a discounted price if you Advance Purchase!

Some of my favorite pics from these trips are the surprise ones that I did not even know the kids were taking. Nighttime photos with Rapunzel's glowing lanterns, adorable shots by Cinderella's Wishing Well, and even Magic Shots of the group in front of Cinderella Castle are all included in that one photo package price--so encourage one and all to stop and take those pictures!

Megan, have SO much fun as you tour The Most Magical Place on Earth with your daughter and friends! As you continue packing pixie dust into those plans, be sure to send additional questions our way. We love to help!
