Esmeralda, welcome to planDisney!
I am so sorry to hear that your daughter has tested positive for COVID a week before your trip to
Walt Disney World. How incredibly frustrating that must be for you and your family. Remy from Ratatouille once said that "the only thing predictable about life is its unpredictability." This pandemic has certainly shown that to be true.
Although any policy is subject to change, at this current time, the
Walt Disney World cancelation policy states that if you need to cancel a Disney Resort Hotel Package within 29 days to 2 days before your arrival date you will receive a full refund, minus a $200 penalty per room. You'll be pleased to know that this includes any Theme Park tickets you've purchased with your room and ticket package. However, if you purchased Park tickets on their own then those tickets are non-refundable. The good news is that the value of any unused tickets does not expire and can be used toward a future visit.
If you wait to cancel until 1 day or less before your visit then the full package is not refundable. Therefore, I'd encourage you to make a decision sooner rather than later.
If you need to cancel, Esmeralda, then I'd encourage you to call the
Disney Resort Hotel Reservation team. You'll be able to speak to a friendly Cast Member who can give you the help you need.
Esmeralda, let me reiterate how sorry I am that your plans have been affected so last minute. I'm hoping that you'll be able to easily reschedule your visit so that you can enjoy the many wonderful things on offer at
The World's Most Magical Celebration. Mickey and his pals will still be here waiting for you!
As Dory would say, "When life gets you down, you know what you gotta do? Just keep swimming."
See ya real soon, Esmeralda!
Mike
