Our daughter is staying at Art of Animation. We all staying at Port Orleans. Can we swim at their pool and they swim at ours? Can we all meet at Port Orleans and take boat to downtown Disney?

    Hi, Cathy! Welcome to planDisney.

It sounds like you’ve got a magical family trip planned! Disney’s Art of Animation Resort and Disney’s Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter and Riverside are wonderfully themed and full of charm—Art of Animation with its larger-than-life characters we know and love from the movies, and Port Orleans with its peaceful riverside ambiance and Southern charm. What a fun contrast!

When it comes to pool hopping, though, Disney’s policy is that pool access is reserved only for Guests staying at that specific resort. So your daughter can enjoy the Big Blue Pool at Art of Animation, and your crew at Port Orleans can relax by the Doubloon Lagoon or Ol’ Man Island (depending on which Port Orleans resort you’re staying at). Unfortunately, swapping pools isn’t allowed—even between family members.

But here’s a great tip: whilst you may not be able to splash around together, you can absolutely meet up at Port Orleans—no wristband needed! From there, take a scenic boat ride down the Sassagoula River to Disney Springs together. It’s a peaceful and picturesque way to reconnect and enjoy some family time (and maybe a little shopping and snacking too!).
