My daughter is special needs and we are coming for a week in Oct to Disney world can you help me with what I need about the rides ? I was told there is something we can get to go in a different line to help get through the crowd better for her

    Hi Paige!

Welcome to planDisney!  Thanks for stopping by as you continue planning for your upcoming visit in October!  Fall is one of my favorite times of year to visit.  In fact, it's SPOOK-tacular!  Between Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival, there is plenty of seasonal fun to enjoy!

Paige, Walt Disney World Resort offers a wide variety of accessibility services for Guests requiring accommodations.  I suggest taking a look at the Accessibility Planning Guide and Recommendations to familiarize yourself with everything available to best support your daughter's individual needs.   Disability Access Service is one of the many accommodations available and is designed to support Guests who may struggle to wait in a traditional ride queue due to a developmental disability.  If you believe this would be an appropriate accommodation for your daughter, you can meet with a specially-trained Cast Member via video chat up to 30 days before your arrival to determine eligibility.  It's important to note that Disability Access Service does not allow you to have immediate access to rides and attractions.  Instead, you can choose return times for select rides and attractions that are comparable to standby wait times rather than spending that time waiting in the traditional ride queue.

Additionally, Disney Genie+ is available for purchase by any Guest visiting the park.  Genie+ can be purchased beginning at midnight each day of your trip in the My Disney Experience Mobile App.  Lightning Lane entrances are available for select rides and attractions and you can start making your first selection at 7:00 AM.  Throughout the day, you can continue to make additional Lightning Lane selections beginning two hours after the park opens or when your previous Lightning Lane has been used.  My family purchases Genie+ regularly to bypass the longer standby lines so we can have more time to enjoy all that is offered in each of the parks!

I hope this information helps you prepare for a bibbidi-bobbidi-BOOtiful visit this October!  If you have any other questions, please stop by to see us again here at planDisney!

    Cheers,
    Kristi
