    My daughter and I are running the half marathon and my husband will be watching. He is staying at Lake Buena Vista and needs to know how to watch the race without getting up at 3 am to take a bus. Can he drive in? Will Roads be closed?

    Hi, Sherry! 

    Congratulations on your decision to participate in the 2015 Walt Disney World® Half Marathon! I hope you are getting excited! 

    I can understand your husband not wanting to get up so early, it does make for a long day. However, if he plans on viewing you and your daughter at some point along the race course, it is suggested spectators arrive at Epcot® by 4:00am on race morning, as the main entrance of Epcot® off of World Dr. will close to all traffic from 5:00am-7:00am. Spectators not planning to arrive until after the 7am reopening, will be charged the daily parking fee and traffic at this time will be reduced to one lane and extremely slow. 

    I would love to know where your husband was hoping to spectate from, Sherry! So I may provide more specific information on how to ensure he gets to see you! I would also ask the front desk of Lake Buena Vista Resort & Spa if they have a listing of road closures. If they don't, be sure to check for one at the runDisney Health & Fitness Expo.
