Hi Adriana,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I love that your daughter is interested in learning more about the
Walt Disney World theme parks and resorts! I am always thrilled to greet a fellow North Carolinian.
To start, I actually suggest a book about Walt Disney called
Walt Disney: 84 Fascinating Facts for Kids about Walt Disney by Colin Mitchell. My girls have loved getting to know more about the man who dreamed of the parks and resorts. As a former high school history teacher, I like to cultivate children's knowledge of history whenever I can!
Second, I suggest
365 Walt Disney World Facts: One for Every Day of the Year by Chadwick Miller. Although I do not believe this book will completely ruin the magic, I do suggest that you review it prior to sharing it with her so that you can determine what, if anything might be too much information.
Finally, if you want a more interactive book, try
Birnbaum's 2018 or 2019 Walt Disney World for Kids Guide. I love the kid-friendly language in this guide. To me, this one also helps my girls think about helping to plan the trip.
Adriana, my girls have taken photos on our trips and written in their journals. Daily journal writing helps them remember the details of the trip when they return to school. They have often written about our vacations when asked to write about favorite memories or experiences!
I am sending pixie dust your way as you plan!
Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
Donyell
