My daughter plans to visit DW with several friends for her Senior graduation trip (along with a couple of moms). Budgets will vary, so is there a moderate resort you'd suggest for the girls? I like the security and convenience of the on site resorts!

    Gina:

I have always maintained that Disney can fit even the tightest budget. And you don't have to sacrifice accommodations.

If you're looking at the Moderate resorts which include Caribbean Beach, Coronado Springs, Fort Wilderness or Port Orleans: Riverside or French Quarter, you won't go wrong with any of them. The lush grounds on each of them as well as their pool facilities exude a feel of a pricier resort. Depending on what you're looking for, however, two have more appeal:

    • Port Orleans: Riverside tops my list for you, especially if you request the Magnolia Bend section. The landscape and fountains lend a sense of grandeur that is appropriate for celebrating an achievement like a graduation. With its boat access to Downtown Disney for dining and all it has to offer in addition to its rooms that are better appointed, not to mention larger, than the Values, you'll be pleased. I'd recommend PO: French Quarter for its theme alone, but if the girls want to spend time at the pool, they may be disappointed.
    • Coronado Springs: Speaking of pools, if some in your party will be saving money by choosing to spend time at the resort instead of the parks, its pool may be more appealing and less juvenile than POR's. Its food court is also superior, and its theme may not be as familiar to a Southerner as that of Port Orleans. I would request the Cabanas or Casistas area as the Ranchos landscaping is less appealing as well as farther away from the food court and main pool.

If you have any more questions about staying on budget for your trip, feel free to come back and ask!

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
