Hi there Pat, I'd like to wish you a very warm wintery welcome to planDisney!
Now I suppose it can never be too early to start planning ahead for the holidays, but I must admit that this early in January I still have the lingering remnants of the previous Christmas hanging around before I get around to thinking about the next one! It looks like the planDisney response that you read only specified the posted dates when the
Holiday season officially kicks off at Walt Disney World Resort and doesn't guarantee when any decorations would necessarily be up. When I saw your question I knew I had to answer it because I personally spent
Halloween and the week immediately afterward in and around the Walt Disney World Resort theme parks and am happy to provide you with my observations to help you plan for this year:
- Almost immediately after the final guest departed from the last night of Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party a dedicated team of Cast Members dutifully entered Magic Kingdom Park on November 1st to begin the process of performing the magical overnight transformation from Halloween to Christmas in an orchestrated feat that would make Jake Skellington proud. Entering Magic Kingdom Park on November 2nd this year, it was mind-blowing how much they were able to accomplish in under 7 hours! These dates are always subject to change from year to year and could shift without prior notice, but since this is a meticulously planned annual operation my best recommendation is to keep an eye for the official dates of Halloween events as they get released this year, especially if they extend past October 31st again.
While the decorating schedule isn't quite posted in a place available for guests to see, I hope that my experience from just this year will be helpful for you and your daughter - as long as nothing changes too drastically for 2024.
Come back again to planDisney for any other tips or tricks in the meantime, with more than a few months to go ahead of your upcoming visit!
Here's hoping that you both are surrounded by a bit of early holiday cheer this year!
