Hi, Maryalicia! Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
Like you, I am also the mom of a child with special needs. One of the reasons why my family loves Walt Disney World so much is that the Cast Members go out of their way to include all guests and to make the Disney magic accessible to everyone.
The
Pixar Play Zone is a kids-only experience that takes place at Disney's Contemporary Resort. Children can be dropped off at the Pixar Play Zone for an evening of fun, games, dinner, and character interactions. I called and spoke to a Cast Member about children with special needs attending the Pixar Play Zone, and from what he told me, the appropriateness of this program is completely dependent on the individual child.
For example, if your child requires one-on-one supervision or is upset by being in a loud environment, Pixar Play Zone might not be the best fit. However, many children with special needs do attend Pixar Play Zone and have a great time. The Cast Member who I spoke with suggested that you give them a call to further discuss whether or not you think this program would be right for your daughter. After all, every child is different and you know your child best. You can find the phone number to contact Pixar Play Zone through the link I have provided in this answer.
Another option that you could look into for your daughter would be
in-room childcare services. An independent childcare provider called Kid's Nite Out offers babysitting and fun-filled activities for children in the comfort of your Walt Disney World Resort Hotel room.
I hope that you and your daughter have a magical visit to Walt Disney World!
Samantha
