Our daughter is 9 and has been persistently hinting about Disney. We're finally getting to surprise her by going over Thanksgiving. The problem? We want to make the best use of our time there but...I'm so overwhelmed with choices. Where does one begin?

Are we talking about this coming Thanksgiving, Gregory?  As in, ten days from now?  If so, that leaves you very little time to plan.  I would start by deciding on a resort and checking for availability.  To make the best use of your time, I'd recommend staying in one of Disney's deluxe resorts (if available) as that will significantly lessen travel time.  From there, you should consider how many days you'd like to spend in the parks; that will help you decide on ticket options.  Also of high priority is booking a restaurant for your Thanksgiving meal.  Your choices will be limited at this point, but you should definitely reserve something or risk eating burgers and fries for the holiday.  Make reservations by calling 407-WDW-DINE.  Lastly, you should piece together an itinerary that will allow you to see some of the special holiday events taking place throughout the resort.  Most importantly, you should do all of this as soon as possible!  Not to worry, though, even last minute trips can be magical!

PS.  If I've misunderstood and you are planning to visit next Thanksgiving, do ask again with that clarification.

Meet the Panelist: Darcie, Alabama

Given your inclination to plan a magical trip, I can already tell we have a lot in common. I'm Darcie, and my friends would be the first to tell you that Disney trip planning (especially dining!) is my love language. Of course, the vacations my family enjoys today look much different than they did when our kids were little, but while some of our favorite activities have evolved, Disney destinations still top our travel wish lists. Let's work together to plan a downright dreamy vacation for your family! Learn More About Darcie
