Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Amanda!
I just signed up for my first
runDisney race too, and I'm so excited right along with you! I am absolutely loving the idea of combining race weekend with a birthday, and I agree that this sounds like serious celebration time – and what better place to celebrate?!
I talked to my 13-year old niece, who is a Walt Disney World professional, and we came up with a few ideas for a celebration meal. My niece pointed out that the most important thing is picking something that matches your daughter's personality: if she wants to be a marine biologist, Coral Reef Restaurant might be the perfect place, or if she plans to find adventure in the great wide somewhere one day, maybe
Jiko -The Cooking Place or one of the restaurants in Epcot's World Showcase.
My tween daughter and I had a magical time having
Afternoon Tea at Garden View Tea Room at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. We both dressed up, and our experience was so special, and the sandwiches and sweet treats that accompany the tea were delicious. If your daughter loves to get dressed up and feel grown up, maybe dinner at California Grill or
The Hollywood Brown Derby. My whole extended family loves to celebrate at Olivia's Café because the food and hospitality are truly wonderful.
We have lots of tips for planning with teens and for making birthday wishes come true, so please come back and see us as you plan and dream. Have the
best time together, Amanda!
Wishing you a magical race, birthday, and vacation,
Robyn
