Hi, Lisa!  Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

I remember the first time my husband and I brought our two little Mouseketeers to the Walt Disney World Resort.  My daughter was only three years old at the time, but she was adamant about not using a stroller.  We tried to explain to her that although she was often big enough to skip the stroller at home, a Walt Disney World Resort vacation involves A LOT of walking.  She insisted that she did not need a stroller because she was "not a baby."  My husband and I figured she would tire out eventually and we could then rent a stroller for her.  However, our stubborn little princess did not give in.  She walked during our entire vacation!  Although I would never recommend visiting the Walt Disney World theme parks without a stroller for a child that young, it can be done.  I think as long as you allow for some break time in your schedule, your daughter will have a vacation that is practically perfect in every way.

First and foremost, be sure everyone in your family has comfortable walking shoes to wear to the parks.  Be sure to break your shoes in prior to your trip and keep some band-aids handy in case of blisters.  I like to pack two pairs of comfy shoes for each member of my family just in case one pair gets wet from water attractions or rain.

A mid-day break from the theme parks can often help guests recharge.  If you're staying at a Walt Disney World Resort Hotel, the convenient transportation options make it easy to stop back to your hotel for a swim or a nap before returning to the park for some more fun.  If you would prefer to stay in the theme parks for the entire day, you could make dining reservations for some table-service meals.  This allows you to cool off in the air conditioning and rest your feet while enjoying some delicious food.  There are also some great shows in the theme parks that will let you take a break from walking while experiencing top-notch entertainment.  Be sure to also take advantage of the FastPass+ system which allows guests to experience some of their favorite attractions with very little wait time.  This is a great way to fit a lot of magic into your day without pushing everyone to the point of exhaustion.
