My daughter can only have oatmilk. Is it available on cruises?

Ahoy there, Thomas - glad you were able to pull alongside us here at planDisney before you set sail next week!

One of my favorite things about a Disney Cruise Line vacation is the incredible crew members, and while they're all special, you'll find your dining team will become like family to you in very short order. As part of Disney's exclusive Rotational Dining, they'll follow you to each restaurant as you rotate through the incredible main dining rooms, making quick note of your preferences or needs, including any dietary restrictions anyone in your sailing party may have! From Royal Court and Animator's Palate, to Tiana's Place and Rapunzel's Royal Table, you're sure to have a personalized dining experience!

In my experience, anything that is within regulations and their ability, they are able to provide - something I'm planning on experiencing with my son on his first cruise this year - do you think they'll puree a prime rib for him?

As someone without dietary restrictions, I wasn't 100-percent sure about your question, so I sailed on over to speak with a crew member to get the most up-to-date information. Currently, the following are available upon request in the main dining rooms:

    • Lactose-free Milk
    • Soy Milk
    • Rice Milk
    • Plain Almond Milk
Unfortunately, Thomas, it doesn't look like oatmilk is currently one of the available options, but the crew member did advise me that you are able to bring unopened containers of oatmilk with you in your luggage. Since all Disney Cruise Line ships' staterooms contain a beverage cooler, this may be the best way to ensure your daughter has the milk that fits into her restrictions.

While it may be too late to do so with your embarkation date so close, on future cruises, I'd suggest filling out the Special Services Request Form at least 60 days before you embark. While it doesn't guarantee that they will be able to procure oatmilk for you, I do know that the special services crew members do their level best to accommodate requests they are able to fulfill. So with a little faith, trust, and pixie dust, maybe you will be able to leave oatmilk off your packing list on your next Disney Cruise Line vacation!

Thank you for your question, Thomas, and I wish you and your family fair winds and following seas. If you have any other Disney Cruise Line planning questions for this or any other cruise, please drop us a line!

May your anchor be tight and your compass true!
