My daughter does not like a few rides her sister and I like. She has offered to let us go on the rides and she will wander around the nearby gift shop. Is she allowed to be alone in the park at age 12?

    Hi Amy!

Thank you for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

There is a rule that children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult to enter the Walt Disney World theme parks. However, this situation is a little different because you will be entering with her, only separating for a short time.

I have run into the same issue when my younger son did not want to ride with my older son and me. There have been times when I would position him at a point by the exit (often in the gift shops) and have him wait there for us. He was probably around 12 the first time we allowed this. I think it mostly depends on how comfortable your daughter is with this and if you trust her to stay where she is told. My son did have a phone with him, so we were able to stay in touch the whole time.

Make sure your daughter knows the exact place for her to wait and that she knows to talk to a Cast Member if she ever gets confused or worried.

I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any other questions and have a magical vacation!
