My daughter and I have a New Year's Eve dinner reservation at Kona at 7.20pm. We'd love to see the fireworks from MK at 6.15pm from Polynesian Beach before we sit down. Will that be possible or will it be restricted to hotel guests only?

    Aloha Steven!

Welcome to planDisney. Thanks for stopping by to discuss your winter escape to Walt Disney World. I'd be delighted to talk about ringing in the New Year from the Most Magical Place on Earth. Let's get started!

On December 31, Fantasy In The Sky Fireworks are scheduled to take place in Magic Kingdom Park at 6:50 and 11:50 PM. On special nights like New Year's Eve, beach access for fireworks viewing at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort is typically limited to registered Guests of the resort.

If you want to catch a glimpse of the show before your dinner reservation, consider walking from Disney's Polynesian Village Resort to the Transportation & Ticket Center and watching from the ferry dock. From the resort, follow the signs to the EPCOT monorail, and as you approach the monorail station, turn left. You'll see Guests standing along Seven Seas Lagoon to see the show.

I hope this is helpful, Steven. If you're open to changing your dining reservation, check out 'Ohana or Narcoossee's. Both offer fireworks viewing from inside the restaurant. I checked and didn't see availability for a party of 2 on December 31, but if dining at either spot appeals to you, I recommend checking frequently between now and New Year's Eve. You might catch a cancellation.

Best wishes for a memorable vacation. Don't hesitate to let us know if there is anything else we can do to make it even more magical. We look forward to welcoming you "home" soon!

    Happy holidays,
    Betsy
