Hi, my daughter, myself, and my husband are planning a trip to Disney Oct. 11-16. Do we need to make reservations for all of all meals? We have looked at the Floridian and the Polynesian resorts. What resort do you recommend?

Hi Tiffany!  The Grand Floridian and the Polynesian resorts are both wonderful choices at Walt Disney World.  Both have comparable amenities so it comes down to the decor and aura of each.  If your family has longed to vacation in the tropical islands then the Polynesian is the best place to be.  From your first step into the lobby you will truly feel like you are somewhere in the tropics.  The theme is carried out through-out the resort and can be topped off with a reservation at the Polynesian Luau called the Spirit of Aloha.

For a more laid back typed resort I love the Grand Floridian.  The grand lobby is several stories high and in the evening it is a favorite place to sit and listen to the wonderful music of the pianist or the small orchestra.  The grounds are pristine and it truly is a "grand" hotel!

I often suggest making one dining reservation per day.  This will give you the opportunity to sit down and relax and enjoy a slower paced meal each day.  You can add to that character experiences as well.  Some days we do end up with two reservations but then we space them out because in the past we know that it can be too much if they are too close in time.

    Enjoy your planning process!
