Hi Mark, welcome to planDisney!
I love that you're planning to share some magical memories with your daughter at Walt Disney World Resort next month. If she's a Moana fan, be sure to check out
Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana, which opened in EPCOT this week. If she's interested in character meet and greets, several of her royal highnesses are holding court at
Princess Fairytale Hall in Magic Kingdom Park. If she's an animal lover, be sure to experience
Kilimanjaro Safaris at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. For hands-on animal encounters, you can visit
Affection Section.
You've come to the right place with your question about connecting with your daughter in My Disney Experience. I understand your daughter has a My Disney Experience account profile managed by your ex-wife's account. If there are no active vacation entitlements such as a MagicBand linked to this profile, you are fine to proceed with adding a new My Disney Experience account profile for your daughter on your account (
Family & Friends list > Add a Guest > I'll enter their name and age).
If there are active vacation entitlements such as a MagicBand linked to your daughter's My Disney Experience account profile that's managed by your ex-wife, I could type out a list of multi-step directions, but my best tip is to reach out to a helpful Cast Member at the
My Disney Experience, MagicBand and MagicBand+ number. Cast Members are available from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. EST each day. Tell them you'd like to connect with your daughter as Family & Friends and that her My Disney Experience account profile is managed by your ex-wife's account. Be prepared to provide your email address as well as the email address associated with your ex-wife's account.
Once your daughter appears on your Family & Friends list, Mark, you can view and make plans for her, even if her My Disney Experience account profile is officially managed by your ex-wife. I manage my children's My Disney Experience account profiles, for example, but my husband can still make dining reservations for them, purchase Disney Genie+ service, view their Disney PhotoPass images, etc.
A father/daughter bond is more precious than gold, Mark. Please remember that the most magical memories you make will be those spent walking hand-in-hand; you are your daughter's favorite Disney hero.
Plan magic; planDisney.
